Well, we've started some honest-to-goodness serious rehearsals for this one, and I'm currently ploughing through the back catalogue trying to put together a legal, decent, honest and truthful set list (if anyone's got any suggestions for inclusions or omission, do tell...). We should have keyboard genius and all-round good egg Tony 'TT' Turrell on board for this one as well as, attempting to replicate endless hours of studio overdubs, that nice David Booth on percussion and (if we're lucky) a bit of cornet. (Please insert your own 'being given the horn' joke here). Nervous negotiations and fingernail biting still going on around Tony Winn's availability, I'm afraid. In an embarassingly kismetic moment, some time ago we also invited rufty-tufty Essex folk rascals Mawkin to support us on the night, and since they agreed, they've turned into the hottest new thing on the trad scene since briar pipes and tankards (everybody's talkin' about folk music...), so that's, frankly, a bit of a coup. I'm not sure we could afford them now. Cheers Shane

More rehearsals tonight, as we put That Nice David Booth through his percussive paces, teach him the chords to 'Happy Day' and get him working on those harmonies. Tickets are already going very heartily, and exciting news with a potential reapproachment with the mercurial Radar who may be available in person to reproduce his spine tingling recorded harmonica parts. Gib has been sent away with instructions to not come back until he's rounded up a real live horn section. It's going to be special

Relax folks, I won't be able to get there... Nat Express only go to somewhere called Grays, Socketts Heath, The Oak, Essex. Also can get there (wherever it is) on the 22nd, but no other coaches until the 25th, now that's a long wait in a bus station by anyone's standard (even mine).
So, have a good gig, and Album launch, and I'll be sending for my copy (by post...as ever) when it's out.
Mic

You silly old sausage - if you can get to Ippo then of course there's a ride to the gig and back to Kirk Central on offer. After that it's up to you. May I suggest you contact The High Barn to reserve ticket(s) forthwith, my dear? Skirky

Tickets are going astonishingly well so far. D'you know, we might have a sell out on our hands . Latest news on the line up is that TT and Radar are definite attendees, and if we get an encore there should be an appearance from Partridgian neice, songstrel and all-round glamourpuss Phoebe, who we hope to shoe-horn into the line up, possibly in the Mulleyesque out and out front-running striker role.

A splendid get-together at the Blue House this evening resulted in one of those happiest of all things - feeling better when you came out than when you went in. Almost a full complement of SftBH'ers, give or take a banjo and harmonicarist or two, all sounding very lovely. We think we've got the set pretty much nailed now and will be trying it out this weekend prior to bouncing on the bouncy castle, getting our faces painted and watching The Owl display. No, really. We get billed above the owls though, right? SK
