All a bit chicken in the basket, to be honest - probably due to the devilish complexity of the Carpenters oeuvre scaring people orf, thus necessitating the presence of a house band of which Our Glorious Leader (TM) was an integral part throughout. Top marks for Kate Bullen's sterling performances (that Karen Carpenter had a bigger range than you'd think) and a splendid series of vocals by the lovely Louise whose slinky top, she confessed, was actually a friend's whole dress Welcome, welcome, a thousand times welcome to that nice David Booth, who injected a welcome muted brass note or eight of Miles Davis' into our seminal "Rainy Days & Mondays" and played some splendid percussion. Full marks also to the ever phlegmatic and tolerant Banjo Barnes in the face of extreme onstage diggery, and thanks Kilbey for an inspired Gibbon impersonation. Hello Mik - thanks for coming out! In a sense. For the second gig in a row we were described as 'amusing'. Should I be worried....? Alora My Friends! Skirks x

Hi Chaps!
sorry haven't been about much recently due to other commitments!!! however I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the jig
The House band played very well considering the shortness of the time together!!! However it showed against the tightness, professionalism and showmanship of SftBH. The three songs you chaps did really took the nite to a different level and the enthusiasm of the crowd was very noticable. The banter was very funny - its always great to see musicians really enjoying performing. And what a great place!!! Nicki really enjoyed it too. Top nite all round!!!!
