Our glorious leader (TM) has signed us up for the next two HB acoustic theme nights - The Beatles and, er, Queen. Any suggestions, shipmates?

Beatles : Get Back, Come Together (maybe not such a 'dated' sound) !! Queen : Acoustic versions of Hammer to Fall and We Will Rock You That should sort it PS : disclaimer - if you take me up on these fine suggestions, then I insist on a dodgy MP3 bootleg of proceedings

We have done a Beatles set before but some different songs to last time would be cool.
As for Queen, so far we're thinking about '39' and 'Fat Bottomed Girls' (which we have done before when drunk). I'm a bit stuck when it comes to Queen but I know it won't be from 'Innuendo' ;D

Beatles rehearsals have started - we're giving a right Bluehousing to four or five numbers, different vocalist for every one. And please welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen, our latest guest singer....Hannah Kirk... ;D Sounds really good, even with the bouzouki player Skirky

The Blue House Snug reverberated tonight to another pre-Beatles get together, this time involving our good friend and limitlessly-talented bass player Steve 'Kilbey' Mears. Gib's gone on to piano for this one and the set so far involves versions of I Feel Fine (Skirky on bouzouki, Hel on vocals), Paperback Writer (Jayems on banjo), For No-One (we've added a minor chord), Back in the USSR (straight) and and rather lovely Across The Universe (Bowie vocal version). Any questions? SK

For No-One (we've added a minor chord I thought that this always started with a C and Em ? this time involving our good friend and limitlessly-talented bass player Steve 'Kilbey' Mears SK Then you've got to have a bash at Come Together ;D

The new Beatles set is sounding quite fab, and well....a bit odd in places, but in a good way. We seem to have turned 'Paperback Writer' into some sort of stalker's song...really quite peculiar. PS We've decided not to do the 'Queen' one after all, and will instead try some new material of our own at a High Barn 'Unplugged Night'....if they'll let us, that is.

Just a repeat of my previous question... Will anyone be recording your Beatles set please? Mix Utter disaster on the recording front I'm afraid Mix...we did our best but a pesky Minidisc power cable thwarted any meaningful recording. You can however still hear the vacuum cleaner we used at the beginning of 'Back In The USSR'. ;D Henry did us proud. But apart from that the Blue House Beatles set is simply a memory for those that were there....lovely full house by the way - an excellent night. To be honest I was looking forward to listening back to it, so am really quite about the minidisc failure. Booh.
