I waited for someone more eloquent than me to do this (you know the type, they usually have the ability to write songs)
Anyhoo!!!
Helstock 2006...
Dateline 18th March 2006, Location, The Steamboat, Ipswich.
Helen finally took posession of her, well deserved, Hancock Award for Best Original Song (Waste Of Angels). ;D ;D ;D I think it's fair to say that she was chuffed
There followed, what I can only describe as a STONKING!!!! night of music ;D Begining with a short set from SftBH... well it was the lass's birthday after all (much beer to be drunk). They finished off with the aforesaid Waste of Angels, and I don't think Helen has ever performed it better than that night. Following on we were treated to a storming set from God's Kitchen, what can I say..........WOW!!!!!!!!!! They were stunning, The Steamboat started to really rock. To round off the night, and just when you thought it couldn't get any better, The PHABs (hope I've got that right) took the stage... Beatles classics raised the rafters... the crowd were up and dancing!!!! Even more excitement to come...
Brilliant version of I Predict A Riot... and!!!! Hannah took the mic!!!! She did more than one number (titles escape me... blame the red wine) but Hannah's, These Boots Are Made For Walking, out-sexied Nancy Sinatra by a country mile ;D ;D ;D
Many thanks are due to the Landlady of The Steamboat, for helping to make it a night to remember ;D ;D
All in all, if you weren't there you missed out bigtime!!! Pray for it to happen again next year
