In a fit of diva-esque proportions, our glorious leader (TM) has demanded blue towels only backstage. We'll let you know how we get on.... ;D

Not only were the towels not blue, they were not there. (so I suppose, technically, they may have been blue) However, I think it's fair to say that we'll survive the disappointment....

Again I waited for a wordsmith-proper to do this... but.... nothing seemed to be forthcoming So here's my thoughts on SftBH at Cornbury. I joined a very nervous group of WaGs, family and friends, waiting anxiously for the time to tick by until the arrival of our Hero's onstage. The soundchecks and equipment shifting really did seem to be going on forever!!! In the end it all cut into the Bands time reducing their set length. However, at last it was time!!!! Myself and other fans lined the fence at the front of the stage and made sure SftBH were welcomed as befitted them ;D I can only say that the band were on terriffic form! Not the least phased by the late start (or if they were it didn't show), and they quite literally wowed the audience!!!! I spoke to several people after, some had heard of, but not heard SftBH, others who had never heard of them (poor fools!).... and every comment that came back was positive, no dissent in the assembled ranks ;D ;D Don't Fear The Reaper.........I don't think I've heard them do it better ever!!!!! It blew the socks off everyone.... I wasn't wearing socks but it nearly took me toes off Sorry folks, I don't do the 'blow by blow' accounts I just do emotional responses...... and mine was..... More!!! More!!!! More!!!!as was the audience's at Cornbury ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Well done SftBH!!!! A triumph!!!! Mix

It was a pretty da** cool set wasn't it ;D ;D ;D
Standing at the front waiting for the band to come on we were watching their faces at the back of the stage. They ranged from studied nonchalance, excitement, nervous grins, assumed coolness and 'what the **** are we doing here' looks. I won't say who was what, but some of these expressions flitted across most of their faces at some point or other.
Then they started. All nerves gone, they played a blinding set. The crowd loved them. All the songs came across tight, professional and played with the musicianship and energy that we have come to expect. The big stage did not seem to phase them one bit. In fact, they looked completely at home there.
I heard so many good comments later.
It was a privilege to see and I felt so proud to be able to say 'hey, I know those guys'.

It was a privilege to see and I felt so proud to be able to say 'hey, I know those guys'. Sandra I feel that way about you too Sandra The hanging about watching the clock tick past while the absolutely heroic crew unplugged everything from Robert Plant's sound desk and rewired it to 'ours' was the worst part ("is that the banjo?" - "No, it's a bloody mandolin...!" ;D ). Luckily we were distracted by the heroic and charming Mark Ellen from Word Magazine, who really is one of the nicest fellows you could ever hope to come across. It was a real boon having so many friends up front to simultaneously calm us down and gee us up (if that makes any sense ) and thanks everyone for your support, it really does make us feel wanted, and as anyone who's spent time with musicians will tell you, that's generally the idea.... We've had some really good and encouraging words about our performance from all sorts of sources and a good few wheels are in motion as a result which should lead to more new and exciting adventures for all of us. Stick around - it looks like it's going to be a bumpy ride.... Cheers Shane
